Silence

Today is the last day of this year. That doesn,t mean much, but it does mean a few things. It means that I will be writing the date incorrectly for the next two months and it means that mandarin season is almost over. I guess I hate the start of each new year for the second reason. I wish mandarin season was longer. Two months is a pretty dumb amount of time for the world,s most perfect food to be ripe for the plucking. Six months is much more reasonable.

Now don,t get me wrong, I enjoy a good can of mandarins as much as the next guy, but they don,t compare. They are a completely different thing. They are also absurdly expensive. You don,t get to peel them and I usually only treat myself to one of those tiny cans with the racist portrayal of a Japanese woman on the label about three times a year. They are a dessert item, not a substitute-for-every-meal-and-beverage item like actual mandarins are.

Maybe it,s a good thing that they are not readily available all year long. I would probably get pretty sick. My fingernails would fall out. My teeth would turn even yellower than they already are. I would go blind in one eye. My tongue would be covered in citric acid burns. My urine would become worryingly buoyant. My blood would move too quickly. My bones would develop strange curves. My kidneys would burst. Things would get ugly.

My New Year,s resolution is to never write anything again for the rest of my life because this is stupid and I can,t believe I have continued to write for so long. I am an idiot and you are too if you,re reading this. I apologize for making you dumber. Now I am sad.

I have been feeling like I haven,t been wiping very well after I poop lately. I,m usually mistaken. I,m a pretty good wiper, but I have been overly worried about it recently. None of this is related to what I was saying a minute ago, but I felt that it was important.

New New New

I went to a show last night to watch some Japanese people play music. It was at a fancy bar that I don,t like because it,s always full of people who are at a fancy bar. It,s also sort of expensive to go there and I don,t like doing that sort of thing. It was worth it though. The people playing sure were Japanese and that,s what I payed top dollar to see. The singer wore very tall shoes.

There was an old guy there who kept smashing into people. He would alternate between purposefully running into people around him and doing weird dances that I think he copied from the Austin Powers film series. He had a nice head of grey hair and looked like the uncle that always tried to embarrass you in front of your friends but would also buy you alcohol when you were fifteen so you put up with him.

I don,t think he came with anybody. He was just there supporting the scene. He could have been there because his nephew couldn,t go because it was a twenty one and up show so he went to pass on a message to those four Japanese people. That,s probably the most realistic reason why he was there. It doesn,t really explain the strange dancing but I can,t tie up every loose end every time I see an old guy smashing into/hugging a bunch of weird smelling, ugly punker kids. He was probably a nice guy though. He did do his fair share of hugging which is rarely seen at cool guy shows like this was. That was sweet of him.

I looked at a blog about fly fishing for a long time the other day and since then my sleep schedule has been off. I am very tired but I shouldn,t be.

Taking The Train

I once made dinner for somebody and they complained that the edges of the food were burnt from grilling them so they picked those parts off and didn,t eat them. That was pretty cool. I marinated stuff and toasted stuff and seasoned stuff and grilled stuff but a little bit of the corner of a bite was burnt so the whole meal was a waste. I like the burnt stuff. If I get toast at a restaurant (why would I get toast at a restaurant?) I ask for it ,,well done,,. Toast is pretty good though.

I remember when I was little, my cousin lived with me and used to eat toast all the time when he would come home from school. He was older and cooler than me so that,s probably why I like it. I just want to be like him. I don,t know what he,s up to now, I haven,t seen him in a long time.

I remember that he really liked bad rap music and then Japanese stuff and then nu metal and then weed and then I think he got really spiritual. That does seem like a pretty likely path for me to follow. I think I,m just past the nu metal part. I really liked that stuff when I was younger. I still like some of it. A friend of mine gave me a System of a Down CD when I was in seventh grade. That was pretty cool. I already had that CD so I returned it and got something else. I can,t remember what I got.

Some kid I knew in seventh grade stole or found a big binder of CDs and brought them to school and was giving them away. They were mostly punk records. I remember taking a live NOFX album. I didn,t really like it at the time. Oh well. Joke,s on me. I would have rather listened to Ludacris or Deftones or something. Remember how Deftones had those really rappy songs? That stuff sucked. Whatever. If I ran into any of those guys I would still probably act like the nervous little boy that I am. I wonder if I would ask them to sign anything. I would probably ask them to sign my boob like that girl in the Limp Bizkit video. I think that video was what spurred me on to try and become the rap-rocker that I am today. I just really like signing blonde girls, boobs. Slipknot.
